NEW WORK. We teamed up with Jean Paul Paula and Florian Joahn to make a short film with Mykki Blanco for Dazed.
It’s an exploration of white privilege featuring three incredible performances by Mykki Blanco, intercut with commentary by Sja’iesta Badloe and Jean Paul.

Austin we’re cumming! House of Air is showing at this year’s SXSW in the Midnight Shorts program.

Nearly half of House of Air’s 3 million views are from Russia, so we teamed up with SADO OPERA to create a special Russian language version for the fans over there.

Here’s a fully annotated version of the script someone put together. Hover over the various terms and you get a translation and historical context, it’s fantastic. https://genius.com/Brian-and-karl-putting-on-the-dish-annotated

BEHIND THE SCENES - HOUSE OF AIR.
Here’s an NSFW look at the making of House of Air hosted by Brendan Maclean and shot by Chris Parkes, including some unused footage, bloopers, and scatological visual effects wizardry.
‘Skwerl’ started as a rambling brainstorming session late one night in Sydney, which was then haphazardly thrown together into this vague outline. The finished product is obviously quite different, but a few of the story beats survived!
We had a long chat with Cultural Kapital Magazine about viral success, Drag Race, scat, queer art, and all things House of Air. Check out their launch issue here.

Here’s a very NSFW video we made with Brendan Maclean exploring hanky codes in 1970s San Francisco. No alternative facts here. Check it out at www.houseofair.info
Digging through old harddrives and found this little moment from “Putting on the Dish” that didn’t make it into the final edit. We didn’t have time to get the right coverage (they’re discussing the sexuality of a passer-by and I’m not sure that really reads visually) and on a script level it was probably redundant anyway. But there’s some nice Polari terms in there and we loved Neil’s delivery so here it is.
